A week and a half ago, my sisters both graduated from their respective universities - Tif from KSU and Chel from Washburn. Upon observation of the graduation gifts, I have decided that it would be a really great idea for me to graduate again as well... ;)
AP came down from Minneapolis, and Mom, Dad, Tif (the non-walking graduate... well done, my sister, two hours in a sweaty graduation gown isn't my idea of a great time, either... lol), Grandma Mildred, Grandma Eileen, and I all went to Chel's pinning in Topeka.

Chelsie at her pinning ceremony; sophisticated on the outside, head-banger on the inside... :)

This was maybe my favorite part of the pinning ceremony - the President's bow-tie. I think if you have an incredibly personable face like this, you are just required to wear a bow-tie. I asked Dad if he would wear one while he preaches on the pulpit, but he gave me a look that told me I was an idiot, so I desisted from saying more.
But it could be a future Christmas present... ;)
On the way back to Grandma Eileen's house in Gridley, Grandma E. gave us some black licorice bits... they were (in a word) disgusting.

AP making one of the essential ingredients for a good morning... :)

The women of the house gathered in the kitchen at Grandma Eileen's. I think Dad was reclining in an armchair, contemplating whether he could be secure in his manhood with so many females in one house. But he survived... :)

My Grandpa Rudy loved Garfield comics. He instilled this love into his children and three granddaughters, and as far back as I can remember, we've been reading Garfield comics at the farm on every visit...
On the porch swing after a trip to the Catfish Pond... oh yes... more pictures of that coming soon.

After church on Sunday, AP, Tif, Chel, and I all went to Kansas City to see
Wicked - the musical adaptation of Gregory Maguire's novel. We had a great time, the show was wonderful, and we even managed to find our hotel room --- eventually. ;)
