Part II: El Rancho (The Ranch)

So... here's Part II - the key word in posting the second part in a "relatively short time" being "relatively"... lol.

Last Wednesday morning (before the fire) Jenna, Jenean, the eight little people and I headed to The Ranch for a little exploring expedition. We found lots of interesting barbed wire, cow poop, and spiky boards, bushes, etc. to play with, but managed to come back without any serious injuries... ;)

The kidlets line up outside one of the buildings at The Ranch for a group photo. (L-R) Candi, Aaron, Eduardo, Moises, Diego, Timi, Gabriel, and Andres.

Jenna and I held up the kids to let them have a look inside the house. Eduardo suddenly gained more interest in the window sill and began gnawing on the wood... what's that you say? Germs? What are those??? lol...
It was only after I got home and looked at this picture of Andres and the tree stump that I realized he had a tusked elephant on the front of his shirt... coincidence? I think not... ;)
In this pic, Gabriel checks out the poop. Everywhere we walked while we were sight-seeing, myriad exclamations of "Popo! Hay popo!" [Poop! There's poop!] filled the air. The little ones were fascinated by the many examples of excrement littering the ground... we tried to at least keep them from touching... lol

Top Left: Moises climbs a fence... all the little ones tried their best to make it over the fences, but usually ended up going through, around, or under. Top Right: Diego and Andres come charging through the corrals. Bottom: All the older boys made their way through spiky, scratchy leaves to stand on the loading chute and talk to a real caballero on horseback... who promptly took off after a muttered "Buenas tardes." Maybe the sight of so many young kidlets, yelling and pointing scared him off... lol
Eduardo was just having a rough day... he only wanted to walk while holding my hand, and then refused to come if we walked a little bit away from him. This picture is of him standing in the middle of the corral, hands to his eyes, crying pitifully. And I must admit that I think it's a pretty funny picture... and moment as a "parent"... lol.
However, he eventually walked across to us, and we headed on... gracious in victory, of course!

This was possibly one of the funniest things that happened on our outing...

Jenean said, "Look... Moises has poop." And the reason we could tell? There were flies swarming all around his bum as he climbed up the fence and walked around the corrals. The picture does not even do the moment justice... lol

The picture of Mo doesn't do justice at all. I think I can see only one fly around his "pockets". There were like 10 at least wanting to attach themselves.
