Floods of Joy...

Yesterday, as the kids and I were sitting on the porch watching the afternoon soccer game, the heavens opened up and poured forth buckets and buckets of rain that quickly drenched everyone. The CVE kids, staff, and work team danced, screamed, and laughed in response to the deluge. Being the oh-so-careful "mother" that I am - I sent Aaron, Diego, and Candi running out into the pouring rain to get drenched... they were really, really upset that they had to get all wet... ;)
I love this time of year here, because you never know when a few rainclouds will turn into an outdoor bath... lol. The expression of joy on Diego's face (above) gives a much better description of how the kids felt than I could ever write... ;)
I remember this specific spot in our driveway as a kid, that always filled up with water first... it made a great puddle to wade in, and later the best mud; the squish-up-between-your-toes kind of mud that just begs you to sit down and wallow in... :)
Well, as you can see pictured above, Aaron and Diego found a puddle that was pretty deep... but since it was full of rocks, there wasn't quite as much "wallowing"... lol. However, they later pointed out to Poncho that they "swam" in that puddle, and it was really, really deep... ;)
After about ten minutes of rolling, jumping, shrieking... the kids started to get a little bit cold...
... and we went inside to take warm baths... ;)
I have a few videos that I hope you all enjoy...
#1 - The kids enjoying our porch's "waterfall"...

#2 - Armando show his mud-sliding skills, and the juego de futbol in the rain...

#3 - And then... time to go in, because it's a little too cold... ;)
