And (as per usual) quite a bit has happened!
So... here goes the "catch-up"... again. :)
Above photo: An acapella choir from Italy that performed at the cultural festival here in Magdalena in May. The kids actually did a great job of sitting and listening to them -- even though they were pretty sleepy by the end of the performance.
Not understanding Italian + no fun musical instruments to watch makes a difficult attention-span holder... lol.
Aaron told/asked me (in the middle of the performance), "They practice A LOT, don't they? Um... how many more songs?"
And then proceeded to do a count-down of songs left... :)
All of the festivities for Day of the Child were pushed back because of Swine Flu, and consequently all the other parties we were supposed to have; so we had a Mother's Day party about two weeks behind schedule... :)I was able to go to Diego's party, but couldn't make Jose's because I was in Kansas at the time -- but Diego's was short, sweet, and relatively painless... ;)
Above: Diego & I after his party; he had to dress up as a clown for his dance. And please notice my butterfly-gummy-snake pin, costume jewelry, and assorted crafts that were my gifts from the festivities... :)
These kids were all pretty cute... except Clown #2, who I probably would have surreptitiously tripped (with mucho gusto, indeed) as he careened up and down the rows of chairs before and during the performances, smacking people, stepping on bags, kids, and toes, and making a general nuisance of himself.
Am I allowed to say that even though I'm in child-care??? :)
There was also a Father's Day party about a week and a half ago, and some of the guys went with our three boys... which was great for the boys, and... interesting (I think) for the guys! ;)Top to bottom: Juan-tan & Mario, Joel & Diego, and Daniel (Leman) & Jose
Ezequiel came up to our fence the other day and hollered for me to come over.
I went -- wondering -- and then laughed as he informed me that he had found, por fin, my principe!
If you can't guess, that means "prince."
I told him I was delighted to make my prince's acquaintance... :)
But he came out the other day in this outfit, and he just looked like such the... little industrious Safari boyscout, that I couldn't resist taking his picture... :)
And Grandma Mildred, these pics of the girls are for you...!
I let Nereida and Candi use the hair thingy-ma-jigger [official term] that you sent down with me, and they were [truly] super-super-excited! I think even the boys wanted to wear them... lol.
More soon, dear friends...

is "soon" a relative term?? :)
Always... ;)
Por fin tu principe...haha I love it.
