I only had a few photos left from May that I wanted to include, so I added them on to the photos from our anniversary trip to Bahia de Kino... enjoy!
Joel and the kids all planted flowers in these eggshells and hoped to transplant them to larger pots later... unfortunately, when we returned from Bahia de Kino, all were dead! Bummer.
We're not sure how and no one is saying... ;)
It made for a picturesque window sill for awhile, though!
His facial expressions are getting better and better!
Have we mentioned that Ithan likes water???
That is definitely an understatement... he's now taken to drinking from his sippy cup, letting it run down his chin onto the tile floor indoors and creating his own little "pool" where he can splash and play to his heart's content... or until Mom finds him. :)
BAHIA DE KINO...
... was so much fun! We took this little guy with us while Seth watched our three oldest boys and Pau and Carissa took care of Ithan and Candi -- we are so blessed to have wonderful helpers!!!
The view from our balcony apartment... beautiful and relaxing!
We took this photo the ONE TIME we went swimming. Notice the monitor in the plant? It unfortunately did not reach the beach area and so we went for one fifteen-minute swim and came back to find him screaming... :(
I remember similar photos with Ithan when he was this age! It's so fun to see Eric smiling and laughing as he begins to recognize faces!
Do you see the beautiful tree on the left? It's called arbol del fuego or Tabochin (fire tree). It has amazing red flowers on top that this photo doesn't really do justice to... and so my dear husband (being the innovative type that he is) decided to get a few seed pods in order to plant our own... if possible.
IF. POSSIBLE.
Notice how tall the tree is? Now see the white balustrade? Joel decided to stand on the balustrade and balance with one hand on the wall while trying to knock down the pods from above.
Good plan.
Maybe.
But not when you're wearing SANDALS!
All I could do was watch as he slid down the balustrade, totally out of control and somehow managed to jump off the end and not smack his noggin'...
seriously.
He maybe deserved to at least have a bruise for the way my heart was leaping out of my chest, but we just won't go there.
And all for THIS!
[even I have to admit that these seed pods are super-cool... and gi-normous!]
*Don't worry, honey... one day you can write a blog and put all the dumb photos of me on it! :)))*
Walking on the beach at night we found lots of these small, blue jellyfish. Harmless when washed up on the sand, but very, very painful if they happen to get you in the water!
Our anniversary late-night snack: wine, Crunch bars and Skip-Bo!
[I'll let Joel tell you the final game count... :)]
Ha! I love this photo of our chunky baby... made much worse by the carrier, I'm sure!
All in all, a beautiful trip and fun time with two of my favorite men... praise the Lord for moments of refreshment and relaxation! In fact, as I write this... I sort of want to go back! Grandmas, grandpas, aunts, uncles... anyone want to come babysit?!? :)
